Indian's leading IT firm Wipro Ltd reported a 41 percent year-on-year growth of revenue in the fiscal year ending in March, according to Indo-Asian News Service Friday.

The company's aggregate revenue in 2006-07 fiscal year stood at 150 billion rupees (3.49 billion U.S. dollars), the company announced Friday in Bangalore, India's "Silicon Valley."

"All our business segments contributed to the strong growth in revenues and profits during 2006-07 on account of strategic acquisitions, expanded local sales footprint and deeper domain skills. Our global delivery capabilities have been widened through centres in Romania, Brazil and Portugal," Wipro chairman Azim H. Premji said in a statement.

Wipro is looking forward to continuous growth in the new fiscal of 2007-08, he said, adding that in view of the sustained sequential growth in last fiscal, the revenue from its global IT services and products is likely to reach 711 million dollars in the first quarter of this fiscal starting from April.

The company's flagship division, its global IT business, had gained favorable performance in the last quarter of last fiscal year, posting 706 million dollars of revenue and a year-on growth of 32 percent.

And it added 44 new clients during the last quarter, the company said.
