British Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott arrived here Saturday evening to continue his week-long official visit to China.

During Prescott's stay in Beijing, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao is expected to meet with him, and State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan will hold talks with him.

Prescott arrived in Shanghai Thursday to start his China tour at the invitation of Tang.
