China-made Chery Tiggos rolls onto Malaysia market
font size

Chery Tiggo, a sport utility vehicle (SUV) made by China's Chery Automobile Co., rolled out onto the Malaysia market here on Saturday.

Alado Bumi Automobile Sdn.Bhd, Malaysia's sole importer of Chery's completely built unit (CBU) vehicles, held an official launching ceremony here on the day and introduced Tiggo to the local market.

Malaysians love SUVs and the price and the performance of Tiggo were competitive with handling and riding comfort, which provides a trendy choice for local SUV fans, said James Wong, head of Alado 's sales division.

This is the fourth model of Chery's vehicles that Alado introduces into Malaysia.

In July last year, Alado unveiled Chery's QQs and QQRs here. Before that, Alado launched Chery A160s in the country.

Sales of QQs and QQRs proceeded well so far and some 200 units of them had been sold out since July last year, Wong said.

Expecting the sales of QQs and QQRs to reach beyond 1,000 units this year, he hoped that 500 units of Tiggo could be sold by the end of this year.
