Death toll rises to ten killed, 75 injured in Baghdad's twin suicide car bombing

The death toll rose to 10 and up to 75 others injured, including dozens of policemen when twin suicide car bombs struck a police station in southern Baghdad on Sunday, an Interior Ministry source said.

"Our latest report said that ten people were killed, including two policemen, and up to 75 others wounded, including 30 policemen, in the coordinated two suicide car bombings," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Earlier, the source put the toll at three people killed and 25 others wounded, including 10 policemen.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. (0600 GMT) a suicide car bomber drove an explosive-laden car into the entrance of a police station in the Eilam neighborhood targeting the front barriers of station, the source said.

"The first attack paved the way for another suicide bomber who rammed his car bomb into the police station building," he said.

The double attack heavily damaged the police station building and destroyed dozens of police vehicles and civilian cars, he added.
