HK immigration officers hold mainland study trip

A delegation of 20 immigration officers Sunday set off for an eight-day study trip under the fourth Mainland Study Program at Beijing Gong An University, a government press release said.

Director of Immigration Lai Tung-kwok said the program will provide a good opportunity for the officers to broaden their horizons and help establish a closer working connection with their mainland counterparts.

The officers will attend lectures on the management of mainland residents traveling abroad, management of mainland residents traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, the mainland legal system, Police system, criminal psychology and Chinese culture. The delegation will also visit Zunyi.

Headed by Acting Assistant Principal Immigration Officer ( Information Systems Production) Ng Ka-chung, the delegation includes one Chief Immigration Officer, six Senior Immigration Officers, six Immigration Officers, two Chief Immigration Assistants, three Senior Immigration Assistants and one Immigration Assistant.

The delegation will return to Hong Kong on April 29.
