Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan on Tuesday said China would like to work with the international community on information security.

Zeng made the remarks while meeting with some participants in an international seminar on information security held in Beijing.

Entitled "Information Security: China and the World", the two-day seminar was hosted by the China Institute for International Strategic Studies (CIISS) and Michael Eric Bosman Hotung Foundation.

Zeng said that as China's information industry develops, information security problems have become outstanding.

China would like to contribute to a stronger global information security system, he said.

Zeng expected the seminar to explore legal and technological ways to improve information security.

Officials from China's information industry and economic planning bodies took part in the seminar which drew foreign attendees from 12 countries.
