Senior officials of China, ASEAN meet in east China

Senior officials of China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Wednesday concluded their annual consultations in east China's Anhui Province.

Assistant Chinese Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai and senior officials of ASEAN countries attended the meeting.

They focused their discussions on how to deepen future cooperation and exchanged views on issues of common concern.

They also discussed follow-up actions on Implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.

They adopted a document defining central concepts in China-ASEAN relations.

ASEAN was founded in 1967 and now groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
