font size

Three militants and two policemen were killed in two separate incidents in Afghanistan's central Ghazni province, provincial police chief said Saturday.

Three Taliban insurgents were killed when they engaged with police in Nawa district on Friday night, Ali Shah Ahmadzai told Xinhua.

In another incident, which occurred in Aband district on the same night, two policemen were killed and three others went missing, he said.

Meanwhile, Taliban's purported spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi that Taliban fighters in their attempt to overrun Aband district killed two policemen and took away three others.

Militancy and conflicts have claimed the lives of more than 900 people, mostly militants, in Afghanistan this year.
