Over 100 Taliban militants killed Afghanistan

A total of 136 Taliban militants were killed by Afghan and the U.S.-led coalition forces in Herat province of western Afghanistan in two recent clashes, a coalition statement said on Monday.

The forces killed 87 Taliban insurgents and destroyed seven enemy positions in Zerkoh Valley in Shindand district on Sunday, the statement said.

The forces killed another 49 militants in the same valley in a clash on Friday, during which a coalition soldier was also killed, it added.
