Chinese shares open higher on April 30

Chinese shares started higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opening at 3,784.27 points, up 24.40 points, or 0.65 percent.

The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 3,759.87 points on Friday.
