All hands needed to build a harmonious society: People's Daily

People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, will publish an editorial entitled "Jointly Building A Harmonious Society and Sharing the Achievements of Development" on Tuesday, the International Labor Day.

The editorial salutes the country's working class and all the working people, and hails the achievements of model workers and advanced workers from all fields.

"In our country, all working people are respectable regardless of what industry they are in and what job they do," it says.

History shows that the country's working class has always been a key driver in economic and social progress, a pillar of social stability and unity, and a bulwark for the fundamental interests of the people, the editorial says.

It says that building a harmonious socialist society is a noble cause that will benefit everyone in China.

All hands are needed to achieve this magnificent goal, says the editorial.

It calls on the country's trade unions, mass organizations under the leadership of the Party, to more effectively address the concerns of workers and protect their rights and interests.

It calls for making great achievements in pursuing the scientific concept of development and jointly building a harmonious society to welcome 17th National Congress of the CPC, scheduled for the second half of this year.
