Insurgents behead Afghan policeman
font size

Taliban insurgents beheaded an Afghan policeman in the southern Kandahar province on Tuesday, a local official said.

The rebels abducted a young policeman Abdul Rahim in Panjwai district Tuesday morning on way to office and brutally beheaded him, district commissioner Niaz Mohammad told Xinhua.

The rebels after committing the crime abandoned Rahim's body in a school, he further said.

Meantime, a purported Taliban spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi claimed responsibility, saying Rahim was spying for foreign troops.

The militants beheaded Afghan journalists Ajmal Naqshabandi last month in the neighboring Helmand province.
