Profit of China's construction enterprises reached 10.3 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2007, up 59.7 percent year on year, official data showed.

Revenues of construction enterprises hit 637.3 billion yuan during the period, up 28.1 percent year on year, according to the figures released by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The gross output value of construction enterprises rose by 21.5 percent year on year to 670.9 billion yuan in the first three months, the NBS said.

Meanwhile, floor space of buildings under construction reached 2.18 billion square meters, up 21.5 percent year on year, according to the NBS.
