Various tourism organizations are set to organize the second Himalayan International Travel Mart- 2007, where more than 100 tour operators will participate, organizers said here Sunday.

Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Airlines Corporation will sponsor the May 11-13 program in Kathmandu, according to a statement issued by NATTA.

In order to showcase and promote the unique tourism products of the country, culture, tradition and lifestyle of people to domestic as well as international tourists "National Tourism Fair" is also being organized on the sidelines by Nepal Tourism Board on the same date, the statement said.

The first NATTA Himalayan International Travel Mart had concluded successfully in 2005 which was participated by more than 200 tour operators from South and South East Asian countries.

"After the successful completion of the First Mart, this Mart was mooted to provide continuity in the changing context of New and Peaceful Nepal as envisioned by the people of this country," the statement said, adding, "More than 100 tour operators from India, Bangladesh, China, Spain, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and United Arab Emirates have already confirmed their participation in this travel mart."

Since Nepal has been selling the similar products for the last three decades, it has become imperative to diversify the tourism products by showcasing immense other products hitherto hidden in the various nooks and corners of the nation, it said.

Despite holding enormous potentials and prospects for all kinds of tourists, they have not received any exposure. So in order to cash in the convergence of top notch buyers and sellers from across many parts of the world, this Mart will obviously prove its worth in turning Nepal's tourism awareness into the sales, the statement said.

"Ultimate goal is to establish Nepal as most enchanting next generation holiday destination," said the statement.
