Malaysia's int'l reserves stand at 91.6 billion USD

The international reserves of Malaysia's central bank amounted to 316.3 billion ringgit (91.6 billion U.S. dollars) as at end April, the bank said Monday.

"The reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.4 months of retained imports and is 9.3 times the short-term external debt," the bank, better known as Bank Negara Malaysia, said in a press statement released here.

As at mid April, the bank's international reserves stood at 309. 2 billion ringgit (89.5 billion U.S. dollars).
