font size

Rabies continued to be the most deadly infectious disease in China in April, followed by tuberculosis, AIDS, hepatitis B and cerebrospinal meningitis.

A total of 593 people died from infectious diseases in April, 90.5 percent of whom died from the above five diseases, according to a report released by the Ministry of Health on Thursday.

Measles cases have been rising rapidly. China detected 16,900 cases of measles in April, the Ministry said, without giving a possible cause.
