Chinese shares close higher on May 14

Chinese shares ended Monday trading a bit higher, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing at 4,046.39 points, up 24.71 points, or 0.61 percent.

The index, which tracks both yuan-denominated A shares and hard-currency B shares traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed at 4,021.68 points last Friday.
