German ambassador to China Dr. Volker Stanzel visited PD Online Forum and answered questions by netizens on the subject of "The Role Germany played in EU and Europe-China Relations" on Monday, May 14, 2007.

On the question concerning 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Ambassador Stanzel pointed out that the year 2008 is crucial not only for Beijing, but also for China, because it offers the world a wonderful opportunity to learn more about China and the development made in the past ten years.

"Of course, the prime goal of Olympic Game is to compete, so I hope journalists could pay more attention to that point when covering this great international sporting event for I am sure there must be a great deal of reports about China. And I also hope the great events could be a wonderful sporting feast for all", added the Ambassador.
