Macao public works chief leaves for Singapore to study public housing policies
font size

Lau Si Io, Macao's Secretary for Transport and Public Works, left Monday for Singapore on a visit to better understand the nation's housing policies.

Lau, who is also the coordinator of a newly formed official group for public housing projects, told local media before departure that he and his team will meet officials from Singapore's public housing development sector to exchange views.

Lau's trip will also cover Hong Kong, which has valuable experience in public housing.

Macao's government has been considering to set up some 8,000 new public housing units by the end of 2009 in the city with a population of 500,000.
