Rwandan President Paul Kagame arrived in Shanghai on Tuesday to continue his state visit in China and attend the annual board meetings of the African Development Bank (ADB) Group.
He was the third head of state to come here for the ADB meetings, following President of Cape Verde Pedro Pires and President of Madagascar Marc Ravalomanana.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will meet with Kagame later Tuesday, who will attend the opening ceremony of the ADB board meetings on Wednesday.
The upcoming ADB meetings are another significant Africa-related event hosted by China, following the Beijing Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in November 2006.
This is Kagame's first state visit in China since he took office as Rwandan President. During his stay in Beijing, President Hu Jintao held talks with Kagame.
He will fly to Shenzhen, a booming city in south China's Guangdong Province that borders Hong Kong, later Wednesday.
