China's political consultative bodies urged to contribute to social harmony
font size

A senior political advisor on Tuesday urged China's political consultative bodies at various levels to be more attentive to the problems concerning people's daily life and work to safeguard their legitimate interests.

The political consultative bodies should convey the wishes and demands of different social groups to the authorities, be well aware of their concerns and assist the Party and government to solve the problems, said Luo Haocai, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Luo made the remarks at a seminar jointly held by the Subcommittee of Social and Legal Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, the CPPCC Beijing Municipal Committee and the China Law Society.

He also urged political consultative bodies to make more efforts to help ease social conflicts and play a positive role in promoting the rule of law and improving social harmony.

Jia Qinglin, CPPCC National Committee chairman, met with the participants to the seminar.
