7 government employees kidnapped in Pakistan's tribal region

Seven government employees have been kidnapped by unidentified men in Pakistan's volatile tribal region Friday, local media reported Saturday.

The staff of the population department were heading late Friday to Miranshah, the center of North Waziristan tribal region, from Bannu, a major town in the region, in a coach when they were kidnapped near Nurak area, according to the private Geo TV.

Three women are among those kidnapped, who have been shifted to unknown place, according to reports.

Local authorities say security forces have started operation to trace the government employees.

No group claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
