11,000 schools in Nepal lack lady teachers

Although the Nepali government has set a target to appoint women teachers in all the schools by 2009, some 11,000 schools still lack lady teachers, the National News Agency, RSS reported on Saturday.

According to the Department of Education, there are some 27,000 government schools in the country.

Official of the department, Dibya Dawadi said, there are 74,673 male and 19,772 female teachers among the total of 94,445 teachers.
