Myanmar Information Minister Brigadier-General Kyaw Hsan left Yangon Sunday for Beijing to begin a six-day official goodwill visit to China.
Aimed at promoting information exchange and cooperation between the two countries, Kyaw Hsan is making the trip at the invitation of the Information Office of the State Council of China.
Kyaw Hsan told Xinhua that his Beijing visit is to enhance the friendship between media circles of the two countries and promote the exchange and cooperation between the two sides.
During the visit, Kyaw Hsan will meet with officials of the Chinese information office, Xinhua News Agency and the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
Besides Beijing, Kyaw Hsan will also visit Shanghai and Shenzhen.
In January this year, a Chinese information delegation, led by Deputy Director of the Information Office of the State Council Cai Mingzhao, came to Myanmar, during which the two sides exchanged views on launching cooperation in the sector of information, agreeing to further enhance such cooperation.
