Chinese vice president meets Croatian FM

Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong met in Beijing Tuesday with visiting Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.

Zeng said China and Croatia have witnessed fruitful cooperation on various fields and supported each other on issues of mutual concern since they forged diplomatic relations 15 years ago.

The two countries have also enhanced coordination in international affairs, said Zeng, appreciating Croatia's adherence to the one-China policy.

Sine the two countries established all-round cooperative partnership in 2005, the relationship has entered a new stage of development, said Zeng.

Zeng said China is ready to make joint efforts with Croatia to boost political mutual trust and pragmatic cooperation to benefit the two peoples.

Grabar-Kitarovic, who is paying an official visit to China from May 20 to 23, said Croatia regards China as an important partner and appreciates the role China has played in international arena.

Croatia will continue to stick to the one-China policy and supports China's peaceful reunification cause, said Grabar-Kitarovic.

Also on Tuesday, Grabar-Kitarovic attended a reception marking the 15th anniversary of the establishment of China-Croatia diplomatic ties, which was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
