Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong met on Wednesday with visiting Indian Army Chief of Staff General Joginder Jaswant Singh.
Zeng called on the two countries to develop neighborly friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, which will bring benefits to the future of both countries.
He hailed the remarkable progress in China-India relations, saying mutual political trust has been continuously strengthened and economic and trade cooperation has developed rapidly, and the two countries have kept good coordination in international affairs.
Zeng said that the Chinese people is ready to go forward with the Indian people hand in hand and to be good neighbors, partners and friends of the Indian people.
Singh started his China visit on Sunday. He had held talks with Guo Boxiong, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, on Tuesday.
