Lufthansa looks to soar in Chinese skies
font size

Lufthansa German Airlines, one of the world's leading airlines, is revving up efforts to expand its business in China. In its 2007 summer schedule, Lufthansa offers weekly non-stop flights between China and Europe, servicing the four gateways of Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Through its strategic partnership with both Air China and Shanghai Airlines, Lufthansa is extending its network and services to more Chinese cities. This business expansion is backed by the outstanding reputation Lufthansa has enjoyed over its more than 80 years of development in China. The brand's image as a reliable European airliner stems from Lufthansa's quality, innovation, reliability, efficiency and a worldwide network. Lufthansa offers its customers an entire range of products and services, from economy class all the way through to first class and beyond. The airline is also setting new international standards in the premium travel segment.

In addition to the award-winning First Class cabin service, Lufthansa has also introduced a series of innovative top-end services, like Lufthansa Private Jet and the only First Class Terminal worldwide, to provide exclusive, personalized and seamless journeys designed to cater to its most sophisticated and discerning travelers.

To offer passengers a first-rate culinary experience, Lufthansa collaborates with some of the world's most well-known chefs through the airline's award-winning Star Chefs program.

In spring 2006, in cooperation with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Lufthansa introduced Pudong Shangri-La's Chef Ye Wen Chian as its first Star Chef for China. With Chef Ye's Chinese-inspired menu served high in the skies, Lufthansa's guests can experience the charm and delight of regional Chinese delicacies and culinary culture.

Lufthansa is one of the few foreign airlines that also have Chinese flight attendants on board its flights from and to China. For over six years, Lufthansa has employed about 200 native Chinese flight attendants, providing Chinese-speaking passengers with culturally sensitive in-flight services in their own language. For passengers' viewing pleasure, Lufthansa provides a wide choice of Chinese movies and audio entertainment.

To complete the Lufthansa experience, a Chinese Welcome Service is available to greet Chinese passengers in their language of choice and assist them with travel needs and information on arrival in Germany.

Lufthansa has won numerous awards in China, including the awards of Best European Airline Serving China and Best Airline for First Class from Business Traveler China for the second year running in 2006.

This demonstrates Lufthansa's appeal to business travelers in China and reinforces its reputation as a world-class airline
