Thai AirAsia to open new route to China's Shenzhen

Budget airline Thai AirAsia plans to launch daily flights from Bangkok to Shenzhen, China, the company said Thursday.

Flights service to Shenzhen in Guangdong province will begin this July 15, via Boeing 737-300 aircraft with 148- seats capacity, Tassapon Bijleveld, chief executive of Thai AirAsia, was quoted by Thai news group The Nation as saying.

"Shenzhen is a popular shopping destination close to Hong Kong, "Tassapon Bijleveld said.

Thai AirAsia is a joint venture of Malaysian low-fare airline AirAsia and Thailand's Asia Aviation. It serves AirAsia's regularly scheduled domestic flights and international flights from Bangkok and other cities in Thailand.
