    NATO stages anti-terrorist military demonstration in Taranto

    A submarine travels during the anti-terrorist military demonstration staged by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), in the Gulf of Taranto, south Italy, May 23, 2007. NATO staged the military demonstration on Wednesday to test the level of interoperationality between NATO naval forces and NATO's capacity of fighting international terrorism in the Mediterranean Sea.

    Five-ton blue shark captured in east China

    Fishers use a crane to load the giant blue shark on May 23, 2007.A giant blue shark was captured by a fisher in east China's Jiangsu Province on the afternoon of May 23. The shark is 10 meters long and 1.5 meters wide with a total weight of five tons or so. A businessman passing by purchased it at the price of over 100,000 yuan right after the capture.

    China's first ten-thousand-ton-class sea water desalting plant has settled in Tianjin Municipality on May 23, 2007. The technology used in the plant is introduced from a French company by Tianjin Baochen Group.
