Chinese special envoy to attend Nigerian presidential inauguration

Chinese President Hu Jintao's special envoy Xu Jialu will head for Nigeria to attend the inauguration ceremony for Nigerian President Umaru Yar'Adua on May 29, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry Friday.

Xu, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, is invited by the Nigerian side.

Yar'Adua, 56, from ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP), won Nigerian presidential election on April 23.
