India, Morocco can cooperate in IT, textiles: ministerIndian Minister of State for Industry Ashwani Kumar Thursday presented aeronautics, information technology, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, textiles, tourism and infrastructure as prospective areas of joint cooperation between India and Morocco, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry said Friday. Kumar said this in a meeting with Salaheddine Mezouar, minister of industry, trade and economy upgrading of Morocco, at Rabat Thursday. Kumar is on a visit to Morocco to participate in the Symposium on "South-South Cooperation in the fields of energy and industry -- challenges and opportunities" being held there. The strategic geographical location of Morocco and its extant Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with several countries offer substantial opportunities for enhancement of trade exchanges as well as joint ventures which can eventually be utilized for export to American, European, Arab and African markets, Kumar said. The Indian Commerce ministry said that the Moroccan minister had expressed his appreciation of the growing presence of Indian companies in Morocco and highlighted the recent agreement signed by Morocco with Indian software firm Tata Consultancy Services to establish an off-shoring delivery center.
