font size

The Israeli who was seriously injured by a Qassam rocket fired from Gaza on southern Israeli town of Sderot on Sunday died of his wounds, a spokeswoman for Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

Earlier, Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported on its website that a man was seriously injured when a Qassam rocket hit his car.

The man was then rushed to a hospital in a nearby city, but died of his wounds a short while later.

Earlier on Sunday, another two Qassam rockets also landed in southern Israel, causing property damages but no casualties.

The rocket attacks followed Israel Air Force (IAF) air strikes against Hamas security positions in the northern and southern Gaza Strip late Saturday night.

A statement issued by Israeli army on Sunday said that IAF hit a post in Gaza City, a target near the northern Gaza Strip town of Jebaliya, and position near the southern town of Rafah.

Israeli daily Ha'aretz said that three people were wounded in the IAF attacks.
