Israelis injured in rocket attacks by Palestinians

Two Israelis were wounded, one of them in critical condition, when a Qassam rocket fired from Gaza landed in southern Israeli town of Sderot on Sunday morning, Israeli media reported.

Citing a rescue crew member arrived in Sderot, the daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported on its Web site that the man who sustained serious wounds was in his car when a Qassam rocket hit the car.

However, another daily Jerusalem Post said it's a 36-year-old man who was seriously wounded by shrapnel when a rocket landed near a swimming pool.

Earlier in the day, two Qassam rockets also landed in southern Israel, causing property damages only but no casualties.

The rocket attacks followed Israel Air Force (IAF) air strikes against Hamas security positions in the northern and southern Gaza Strip late Saturday night.

According to a statement issued by the army, IAF hit a post in Gaza City, a target near the northern Gaza Strip town of Jebaliya, and position near the southern town of Rafah.

Israeli daily Ha'aretz said that three people were wounded in the IAF attacks.
