font size

Two leading Christian organizations in China will hold an exhibition of their Bible ministry next June in Germany, the first ever of its kind in European.

The Bible Ministry Exhibition of the Church in China will be jointly sponsored by the National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China and the China Christian Council (CCC).

The exhibition will be held at the German Protestant church of Kirchentag in Cologne and the Mission One World of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bavaria, said CCC president Cao Shengjie at a press conference on Monday.

The exhibition will comprise pictures, art works and historical details about the development of Christianity in China.

"The purpose of the exhibition is to witness, through the facts, the religious freedom Chinese Protestants enjoy and the deep love they have for the bible, and to promote the mutual understanding between the peoples from the two countries," she said.

The CCC has already received exhibition invitations from Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Australia, but has not yet decided on the next destination.

A similar exhibition attracted about 30,000 people in Hong Kong in 2004 and more than 20,000 people in the United States in 2006, the CCC said.

According to CCC statistics, China has printed and published more than 43 million copies of the Bible since the CCC was established in 1980.
