Mongolia and China will increase cooperation in various fields, Prime Minister Miegombyn Enkhbold said on Monday.

Enkhbold made the remarks while meeting with Liang Guanglie, a member of China's Central Military Commission and chief of the general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, who said military cooperation between the two countries will expand.

In recent years, the two countries have been good neighbors and mutual trust has developed, Enkhbold said, adding that high-level visits have been increased and cooperation between China and Mongolia in various fields has gone well.

The prime minister also stressed Mongolia's adherence to the one-China policy.

Liang said China attaches great importance to its relationship with Mongolia, which it has worked to develop and consolidate.

Before the meeting, Liang also held talks with Mongolia's Minister of Defense Mishig Sonompil.

The cooperation between the two countries' armed forces has led to a stronger relationship, Sonompil said.

Liang said the Chinese government and armed forces will continue to expand cooperation with Mongolia to promote development and maintain regional peace and stability.

Liang arrived here on Saturday for a three day visit to Mongolia.
