Indian Food Processing minister leaves for U.S.

Indian Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahai has left for the United States for holding discussions with the U.S. on integrated cold chain facilities, packaging issues, irradiation facilities and food parks, the Indian Ministry of Food Processing Industries said on Friday.

The minister is on a 12-day official tour and will meet U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Johannes in Washington. Sahai will also meet the representatives of the U.S. Industry in New York and visit the Chicago Board of Trade in Chicago and the Culinary Institute of America at St. Helena.

He will also meet with the Captains of the Food Processing Companies in Los Angles and visit Melissa's World Variety Produce at Vernon.
