China values its relations with Azerbaijan and will make joint efforts with the latter to raise bilateral ties to a new height, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said on Friday.
While meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Araz Azimov, Yang spoke highly of Azerbaijan's firm support to China on Taiwan and Tibet issues.
Azimov said his country puts the relations with China as a priority in its foreign policy, adding that Azerbaijan will unswervingly adhere to the one-China policy and strengthen cooperation with China in the United Nations and other international organizations.
The two sides agreed that relations between China and Azerbaijan have undergone a smooth development since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 15 years ago, with increasing political trust and expanding economic and humanistic cooperation.
Besides, the two countries have conducted good cooperation in international organizations like the United Nations in the past 15 years, yielding various fruits, according to the two foreign ministers.
