Beijing official fingered in shady land deal investigation

Zhou Liangluo, former head of the Haidian District in Beijing, has been deprived of his membership of the 12th Beijing Municipal People's Congress.

Zhou, 49, was detained on April 6 on suspicion of involvement in illegal land transactions in the northern part of the district, home to China's top universities and high-tech companies.
