font size

Egypt's national carrier EgyptAir started to operate three new lines, including the one to China's Guangzhou, as of Saturday, the official MENA news agency reported.

Sherif Galal, chief of the airline, was quoted as announcing that besides Guangzhou, the other two lines include the ones linking Cairo to Lisbon of Portugal and Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia.

Flights to both Lisbon and Kuala Lumpur will operate twice a week, Galal said, adding that flights to Kuala Lumpur would be increased to three as of July.

The new Cairo-Guangzhou line will pass by the Thai capital of Bangkok and be operative as of Monday, MENA said in a separate report, adding the line will operate three times a week, bringing the total number of EgyptAir flights to China to seven.

The Cairo-based EgyptAir operates scheduled services to 70 destinations in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, the U.S. and Canada, as well as domestic services.
