Li Guixian, a senior official of China's political advisory body, met Monday with Jiri Liska, vice president of the Czech Senate on promoting relations between China and the Czech Republic.
Li said the leaders of the two countries keep exchanging visits and the mutual understanding is deepening.
The two sides saw their trade relations going closer, and exchange and cooperation in areas including culture and education expanding, said Li, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
He said China attaches importance to the relationship with the Czech Republic and is willing to reinforce bilateral friendly cooperation in various fields on the principle of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.
Liska said the two sides share a growing desire for closer cooperation and it is necessary to further mutual understanding.
Liska said he believes that his first trip to China slated for June will enable him to have a full understanding of China's development in a variety of areas, like politics, economy and culture.
