DPRK accuses U.S. of reinforcing capability of preemptive attack
font size

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) Tuesday accused the United States of reinforcing the capability of a preemptive attack against the country.

The remarks carried by the leading official newspaper Rodong Sinmun in a commentary came after a report that the United States decided to invite Australia to participate in the study of a missile defense system with Japan.

"They (the United States, Japan and Australia) are prompted by its (the U.S.') strategic scheme to realize its ambition for a preemptive attack based on an unchallenged upper-hand of strength, " said the newspaper.

"Peace and security have been damaged and the danger of war has been increased in different regions of the world by the U.S.," the newspaper added.

The Japanese government claimed on May 22 that the United States and Japan planned to study a joint missile defense system with Australia that would boost their security role in Asia-Pacific region.
