font size

Indonesian Vice President M Jusuf Kalla left for China on Wednesday morning for a five-day visit aimed at increasing business cooperation and diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Accompanied by some ministers, governors and businessmen, Kalla is scheduled to meet with Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong, Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress ( NPC) Wu Bangguo and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao during the visit.

Kalla will also visit pump storage hydropower plant in Chengdu, South of China, to observe a hybrid-rice project. While in Yichang, Hubei Province, Kalla will visit Three Gorges Dam, a huge dam and power plant, Indonesian officials said.

This is the third time for Kalla to visit china since he became Indonesia's vice president in 2004.
