font size

Recently, at Chengdu Institute of the Armed Police, twenty-one female aviation security officers are concentrating on intensive training. They come from three national airlines. After passing the training examination, these flight attendants will apply for an aviation security officer license from the higher department. If all goes as planned, they will begin to serve passengers in September of this year.

A representative of Sichuan Airlines stated that the first batch of eleven female aviation security officers who will be employed by the company all possess professional abilities. Liu Di, a 22-year-old who was once a member of Sichuan Airlines' female special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team, received second place in the Women's National SWAT Skill Competitions organized by CCTV- catching and grappling are her special skills.

Guo Bo, captain of the aviation security and police training battalion from the Chengdu Institute of the Armed Police, said that female aviation security officers should not only complete the high intensity training of catching and grappling, but also should learn the nineteen required subjects which include negotiation skills, psychological training, and explosives identification and handling. In order to meet the demand for safety on the plane, they also need to learn how to subdue an enemy within a short period of time.

Sichuan Airlines said that female aviation security officers are also selected based on their skills as flight attendants. Although each of them possesses outstanding abilities, they are also caring and considerate while carrying out flight services.
