Chinese President Hu Jintao's envoy Li Zhaoxing left Beijing on Wednesday for Bamako, Malian capital, to attend the inauguration of Malian President Amadou Toure scheduled on June 8.

Li served as Chinese foreign minister from 2003 to April this year. He retired from the post on April 27, replaced by the current Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
