More than 300 companies from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda are expected to attend this year's East Africa Trade Fair to be held in Tanzania in late August, local organizers announced on Friday.

The trade fair, to last from August 31 to September 10 in Mwanza in northwestern Tanzania, has already drawn participants from such sectors as food and beverage, textiles, building materials, stationeries, chemical and pharmaceutical products, footwears, agricultural products, electronic products, information technology products, banking and insurance services, telecommunications, tourism, and consultancy.

The trade fair is expected to attract some 150,000 visitors, according to Event Organizer Amran Batenga.
