font size

European Union (EU) Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson will meet here with Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai for the annual EU-China Joint Ministerial Trade Committee next Tuesday, Mandelson's office said on Friday.

Mandelson's office has dubbed the meeting as "the single most important event" in the EU-China trade calendar.

During the meeting, the scope and strategic direction of the trade relationship between China and the EU will be discussed in detail, and "inevitably, key problems raised and addressed," said Mandelson's office in an email to Xinhua.

"Trade surplus, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) problems and market access" are key issues Tuesday's meeting will address, the office said..
