Vice President of the European Parliament Miguel Angel Martinez has arrived in Cuba for a visit, Cuba's state television reported Saturday.

"We are here to show our friendship with and customary affection for the people of Cuba," Martinez was quoted as saying.

Martinez will meet with Cuban Vice President Carlos Lage and Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque during the visit, the official AIN news agency said.
