Seoul to host financial intelligence conference in 2008
font size

The South Korean Financial Ministry said Sunday that Seoul will host the 16th plenary session of the Egmont Group, a major international conference on financial intelligence and anti-money laundering in late May in 2008.

The decision to hold the meeting in Seoul was reached at the group's latest plenary session held in Bermuda from May 28 to June 1, the ministry said.

The Egmont Group, formed in 1995, is an international body where more than 100 member states share information about suspicious financial transactions linked to terrorism and exchanged investigative techniques and strategies.
