Indonesian Vice President visits southwest China

Indonesian Vice President Yusuf Kalla on Saturday visited Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

In a meeting with Kalla, Sichuan's vice governor Wei Hong said Sichuan's trade with Indonesia totaled 110 million U.S. dollars in 2006, with 22 Indonesian companies investing in the province.

Kalla proposed the two sides work more closely on infrastructure construction and agriculture as Indonesia is undertaking power facilities construction and the grain output is increasing.

Sichuan is the third leg of Kalla's five-day tour. Earlier, he visited southwest China's Yunnan Province and Beijing.

The trip will also take him to central China's Hubei Province.

Kalla is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong.
