Senior Chinese official leaves for German party conference

The deputy secretary of the Yunnan provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Li Jiheng, left Beijing on Thursday to represent the CPC at the inaugural conference of the Left, Germany's new left-wing party.

Li, also an alternate member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, will attend the conference scheduled for Berlin from June 15-16.
